Life Without ‘A Life’

I know all of you would have begun to wonder what I mean by ‘A Life’. It has multiple layers of meanings but here I mean ‘A Life’ by an offline life; A life without Internet. The idea itself is so scary and the one who comes out alive after a week without having an internet connection has a very strong will power. I know, I know, just a hyperbole to use. Such unconnected life was plaguing me since a few days and so I have come up with this piece. Almost nothing gets done without the internet. The more we rely on it, the more impossible it gets living without it. It is undoubtedly the most reliable machine, man has ever made.

 

Let’s see now how no internet played a havoc in some of our lives-

·        The chargers were of no use as the battery of the phones remained charged up. (First time in the smart phone history)

·        You can’t even put up on social networking sites how bored you are without it, where once you used to update every single activity of yours.

·        Can you imagine yourself digging up a giant dictionary for meanings of the words when it was easy to find on the net, believe me I did that several times.

·        Google Maps- Who remembers the ways now, but without the maps we had to. Trust me it was more difficult than those scientific formulae.

·        It felt like you were put in the prison or your body part was cut off.

 

But keeping an optimistic approach, I feel it was not even that bad, I mean you finally had time for yourself  and you were at peace. I know I am contradicting myself, but come on, for a while I myself felt relieved that nobody can now call me or reach out for me or demand anything of me. This unplugged life made me realize that I had actually been wanting such days for ages. I had proper ‘sleeps’ at night and a lot of relaxation. What else do you want from LIFE!!

 

So, a life without ‘A Life’- No, no not true. (For me at least)
